On average, 600,000 Americans die every year from heart disease related health problems, like heart attack and stroke. That’s a lot of people, and really goes to show how pervasive heart disease is in our society. Poor diet, cigarette smoking and excessive drinking are often the root causes. Some are more susceptible to others, particularly if heart disease runs in your family. Of course, any plan to help prevent or reverse heart disease must involve exercise and proper diet, but this 800-year-old heart disease cure is worth a shot.

Opatika Hildegard von Bingen, who lived in the 13th century and died at the ripe old age of 81 pioneered this remedy. Her recipe would be later prescribed by some doctors for treating heart disease.

Opatika thought that every household should use this heart disease remedy, which has been shown to be successful in helping people with a variety of heart diseases. It’s also been used for tremors, irregular heartbeats, tachycardia, and can even be used for people suffering angina pectoris.

Like we said earlier, this remedy is good for you even if you don’t have heart disease. Preventative medicine is the best kind, after all.

You will need:

  • 10 bunches of fresh parsley
  • 4 cups of red or white wine
  • 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar
  • 10 ounces of organic honey

Simply put the ten bunches of parsley in the liter of wine and add the wine vinegar. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes on low heat until it begins foaming. Then add your 10 ounces of honey. Leave it to simmer on a low temperature setting for four minutes, then drain the mixture when cool. Once cooled, put into a bottle that has been cleaned very well with alcohol. Close the lid tightly and it’s ready for use.

Simply consume a tablespoon of it daily. You don’t need to take much! You might find a sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly edible.

The cure for cancer is an elusive goal for researchers around the world. One of the greatest struggles with killing cancer isn’t exactly the killing part, but it’s not killing the rest of you. Alternative medications like turmeric and hemp oil can be effective for some people, but it’s been difficult to apply those cures to all types of cancer. More on that:

“In learning the molecular biology of cancer pathways, and in learning that what the evidence actually shows the effect of natural product extracts on various relevant molecular targets in various cancers, we see that there’s actually quite a large amount of evidence that supports using various molecules, natural products, and pharmaceuticals that are already approved and that have been around for a long time to affect anti-cancer activity along that pathway at that target. That’s called molecularly targeted anti-cancer treatment, and it’s widely practiced in oncology today. What’s not widely practiced is the use of the natural products for the molecularly targeted anti-cancer activity. I provide that for my patients because the evidence base suggests and supports the use of these treatment recommendations.”

Check out the video below. It’s pretty incredible.

Warts suck. There are 120 different types of warts that we’ve identified so far and they’re mostly the result of viral infections. They can appear pretty much anywhere on the body, but they’re mostly on the elbows, knees, fingers and face. Here are a few remedies you can make to help evict these nasty ass things from your skin.

Garlic

Garlic is naturally an antiviral plant. It’s one of the simplest homemade remedies against warts. Just squash up some garlic and apply it to the wart. If you like, you can wrap it in a bandage and keep it applied to your skin for 24 hours. You may need to repeat a few times in order to get rid of it if its being a stubborn bastard.

Oils

Essential oils can help remove warts, particularly castor oil. Simply apply the oil daily until the wart dies and goes to wart hell where it belongs.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is awesome for a lot of skin-related problems. Removing warts is one of them. It’s best to get an aloe-based cream or gel. Like oils, apply regularly until the wart is gone. Gone and dead forever.

Banana peels

This is kind of an odd one but effective apparently. Gently rub the disgusting ass wart with a banana peel a few times a day. Potato peels work too, apparently. Make sure the peels you’re using are fresh, and within about two weeks, that wart will be cast into the bowels of hell with all of its wart friends.

God I hate warts.

Did you know that many common household items bring formaldehyde into our homes? Formaldehyde exposure is an incredible danger to our health. Exposure can cause lung, eye, nose, and throat irritation, as well as lung and nasopharyngeal cancer. It can also cause cancer in your pets. EPA calls formaldehyde a probably human carcinogen.

So what kinds of household items bring formaldehyde into your home?

1. Nail Polish.

Can you believe it? Nail polish uses formaldehyde as a preservative and a hardener. Choose nail polishes that are water-based and formaldehyde free.

2. Various hair products.

Formaldehyde is common in ahir products. Look for the ingredients: quaternium-15, imidazolidinyl urea, diazolidinyl urea formalin and methylene oxide. Avoid at all costs. Ask questions about these ingredients at the salon.

3. Common bedding.

Wrinkle-free bedspread, sheets, and pillowcases contain formaldehyde that cannot be washed away. Look for flannel or cotton jersey bedding.

4. Kids plastic dishware, toys.

Kids plastic dishware and toys contain formaldehyde. Look for ones made without melamine resin. Others are not safe for microwave use or for children.

5. Air fresheners.

Many air fresheners contain formaldehyde as a basic ingredient. If you want a more pleasant aroma in your home, use soy candles, sprinkle baking soda, or just open up a window.

And what can we do about it? Check out the video below.

During the winter time in particular, we’re much more likely to fall ill. Cold and flu viruses thrive in cool, dry environments, and being indoors so much more exposes us to each others’ pathogens. Being sick is likely something you’ll have to go through no matter what you do, but strengthening your immune system means that your symptoms won’t be nearly so bad, and your illness won’t last so long.

I periodically take this elixir throughout the year, just to give my body a boost. Eating well and being active throughout the year also helps your immune system thrive. In the winter time, I ramp up the amount of this elixir I take, especially if I feel a cold coming on. It really works! Here’s how you make it.

You will need:

  • 2 medium sized organic lemons
  • 200 grams of raw honey
  • 1 2-inch piece of organic ginger root

Instructions:

  1. Begin by washing your lemons, peeling the ginger, and then slicing them both into thin slices.
  2. Put in a blender, mix it well, and add honey to the mix. Mix it again until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.

Consume 1 tablespoon on a daily basis. Children should consume 1 teaspoon or a bit less, depending on how old they are. You can add this elixir to a cup of hot tea too. If you’re already sick, it’ll help your throat and sinuses feel better almost instantly.

Stay well!

I love garlic. There’s no getting around it. Sometimes called the “nectar of the gods,” garlic is great in many dishes and it’s good for you. It can help reduce high blood pressure and kill the common cold. It’s worth a lot more than flavor.

1. Garlic lowers your cholesterol.

Garlic inhibits the same enzymes that high cholesterol drugs do without any side effects. Cheaper too. It’s also an antioxidant that helps reduce LDL, or bad cholesterol.

2. Garlic helps fend off cancer.

Particularly stomach and colorectal cancers. About 164,000 Americans are diagnosed every year with one of these types of cancer, and is one of the top ten causes of cancer deaths. Garlic may also reduce hematological cancers.

3. Garlic lowers your blood pressure.

Garlic can help relax smooth muscles like your arteries, thus helping them dilate and relax.

4. Garlic helps prevent blood clots.

Garlic can work as a blood thinner and anti-thrombotic, thus helping prevent blood clots. Of course, if you’re at a high risk for clots, see a physician about a medication to use in conjunction with garlic.

5. Garlic is a cure for the common cold.

Sort of. Sometimes colds hit you harder than others. One of my remedies is making garlic tea. Makes your breath smell like death and tastes pretty rough but it helps kick the cold out of your body. Simply crush up a couple cloves of garlic in a cup of hot water, allow to steep for about 10 minutes, and drink.

Our lymphatic system is one of the hardest working systems in our entire body. Not that all of our organs don’t work hard at keeping us as an organism going, but the lymphatic system takes a real beating.

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs consisting of the lymph vessels, lymph nodes and lymph. Your tonsils, spleen and thymus are all a part of the system. Your body has between 600 and 700 lymph nodes total. These nodes filter the lymph before it returns to the circulatory system.

The lymph system is primarily responsible for releasing lymph, a colorless fluid that contains white blood cells that helps rid the body of toxins, pathogens, and other waste materials. So you can understand why it’s so important to keep your lymphatic system healthy! Check out the video below. It’ll describe for you how to detox this important system.

Most name brand deodorants don’t really do the trick when it comes to getting rid of the terrible aromas that come from your pits. Nor do the axe body sprays help and really stink up the room with overwhelming “pretty” stenches. This recipe however, can eliminate the moistness as well as bad smells that people and yourself despise so much. Plus you won’t have to spend so much money on the name brands and just make your own antiperspirant! I’ve been using this recipe for well over a year now and I don’t stink. Unless I forget to use it, but that’s on me, not the deodorant.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 3 tbsp of baking soda
  • 3 tbsp of virgin coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of shea butter
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 5 drops of essential oil (orange, lavender, or whatever you prefer to smell like)

Here’s How To Make It:

You’ll need to make a double boiler. Place a half-pint glass jar in the middle of a small pot of water. Let the water simmer and add the shea butter & coconut oil to the jar to let it melt. Turn the heat off  then add the cornstarch and baking soda. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth. Then add the essential oil you chose. Let the concoction cool down.

The deodorant hardens at room temperature (67 degrees Fahrenheit). Scoop out at least 1 tablespoon, roll it into a ball, and apply to your armpits. To keep in mind during the Summer, you should probably keep the jar in the fridge. Coconut oil tends to liquify at 76 degrees.

To avoid stains on your clothes, you should let the deodorant soak into your skin before putting clothes back on. There you have it! You’re very own home-brewed deodorant! Don’t you smell lovely. Now get out there and start your day smelling like a spring breeze!

There’s no purchase that bums me out more than having to pick up some nasty soap for my dishwasher or clothes washer in a plastic bottle that will have to be thrown away when I’m done with it. It’s terrible for the environment and it’s not especially good for you and your family either.  I’ve been working on finding a good homemade dishwasher detergent for a while and I’ve found a recipe that seems to work.

I sought out a borax-free recipe as well. Borax is a mineral that occurs naturally and is typically mined sustainably. There have been some claims that borax is carcinogenic, but it’s not at all true. Nevertheless, borax can make you sick if you consume it and can negatively impact your endocrine and reproductive systems, so using borax to wash your dishes isn’t the best plan. Borax is okay in laundry, but not ideal on your dishes.

Let’s get down to it. You will need:

  • 2 Cups of Washing soda
  • 1 Cup of Baking soda
  • 1 Cup of Citric acid
  • 1/2 Cup of Kosher salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of Liquid castile soap
  • 1/2 cup of White vinegar
  • 15 – 20 Drops of Essential oils (optional)
  • Ice cube tray (2)

This recipe should give you between 30 and 50 loads. Here’s how we do it:

  • Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Gradually pour in the vinegar, just a little bit at a time. Some fizzing will probably happen.
  • Mix in the castile soap and essential oil if you choose to use it.
  • Pack the mixture into icecube trays. Make sure they’re well compacted.
  • Set the trays out in a warm, sunny spot, allowing them to dry for about 24 hours.
  • Take the tabs out of the trays and store in a tight-lidded container.

Boom. Pretty easy. In all honesty, you don’t have to use an entire tab if you have a light load or a smaller dishwasher. You can cut them in half and prolong this recipe’s lifespan. And at the end of the day, you’re only spending around $.09 to run a load through the dishwasher. That’s definitely quite the savings!

Have you tried this recipe? Tell us what you think!
